Salon Hair Dryers

Our Team.

While wandering aimlessly through college and with the encouragement from my hairdresser, I joined the Toni&Guy Hairdressing team in 2002 in the suburbs of Atlanta as a receptionist turned Salon Manager. I quickly realized I was on the wrong side of the desk and enrolled in hair school and jumped right into weekly education at my salon. I trained under some of the top hairdressers in North America and England. I focused on hair cutting and styling for the 8 years I worked with Toni&Guy. I had one-on-one education from their international artistic team members, helped out with more hair shows than I can remember, and absorbed as much information as I possibly could from all the talented hairdressers I was surrounded by.

I found myself wanting to work closer to home in the city and needed a lighter schedule to accompany touring with bands doing hair and exploring the world as much as possible. I landed in a small neighborhood salon in Atlanta in 2002, Mariemarie. Through regular education and training, we grew into a beautiful  and successful salon with a staff of seasoned and new hairdressers. This is where I met my partner and began my education journey with Davines. I immediately jumped into extensive color training with the colorists that helped develop the curriculum for Davines color.

In addition to working behind the chair, I have traveled for years sharing my love for Davines styling products and hair coloring systems with hairdressers throughout the Southeast. We exclusively use Davines products and therefore practice safe and sustainable hairdressing. We have a partnership with Green Circle Salons which helps us recycle 95% of our salon waste and works in accordance to international sustainability standards . This partnership also offsets our carbon footprint and we are the first sustainable hair salon in Sylva.

Our story started in Sylva in 2014 when we visited together for the first time early in our relationship. In a years time, we were married here  in Webster at Dave and Edna Waldrop’s house whom we have remained close friends with ever since. It has been dream of ours since 2014 to have a small salon on Main Street and we couldn’t be happier to have you as part of our new salon family!

I got my first salon job the summer of 1992 and by fall I had started an apprenticeship beginning my lifelong love of hairdressing. I spent the next 13 years focused on all things hair color, becoming an educator, and helping to manage a large salon in the suburbs of Atlanta.

I decided in 2005 that I wanted to focus on cutting and styling, so I left the suburbs for Atlanta and spent the next few years doing just that. I took a job at a small salon in 2012 where I started working next to a rather cute hairdresser. By 2015, we were married Webster and opened our first salon together in 2018.
Blair and I have been visiting to Sylva regularly since we started dating and had a long term goal of moving here. We saw an opportunity in 2020 to do that and here we are today!

I specialize in low maintenance cuts and color. I love round brush blowouts and curly hair. I believe in building relationships and trust to better customize your color and style to your lifestyle, personality, and comfort level with maintenance.
